Some highlights from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s trips across New York State.

In Westchester, Kirsten headed to the LOFT Center to discuss her defense bill amendment that would grant anti-discrimination protections to transgender service members.

Kirsten then paid a visit to the Agatha House Foundation in the Bronx with Food Bank for NYC. They recently expanded efforts to fight hunger by creating a sidewalk food pantry to feed those in need during the pandemic.

In Albany, Kirsten visited the Arbor Hill Food Pantry at the Trinity Alliance. They’ve been a critical lifeline for their community during the hunger crisis caused by COVID19.

In Binghamton, she stopped by the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW) to help pack healthy meals. CHOW feeds families in Broome County through a network of over 100 partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and community meal programs.

She then volunteered at Island Harvest’s temporary warehouse in Bethpage, joining Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. Their Family Meal Box Sorting Program helped Nassau County put together more than 4,000 healthy food boxes to distribute at a July 1st event at the Nassau Coliseum.
